Catching That Moment
Although photos can serve as a reminder, a video, even a brief clip really captures the moment. On our trips we are generally busy making sure everything is running as it should and our guests are having the best possible time but every now and then we get the opportunity to enjoy the moment with our guests and occasionally we capture these magical moments on video. Here five of our favourite moments.
1. Taken by Cristina on our Hot Air Balloon Experience in Cappadocia. We particularly like this clip as it perfectly captures the stillness of floating across the region’s incredible landscape.
2. Is there anything more ferocious that a mother protecting her young? This incredible clip was taken by Dragos at the Bear Hide on the Brown Bear Experience, when a male bear decided to throw his weight around, he won’t be doing that again anytime soon! Note at the beginning of the video you can make out one of her two bear cubs scaling the tree for safety.
3. It’s the elephant encounter we all wish for. And James got exactly that on our South Africa Experience while, relaxing back at the lodge between game drives and a wild elephant decides to come to your lodge to cool down. Magical.
4. This is one of our favourite clips taken my Marius G on our Transylvania Experience in the rural village of Viscri. You can really feel the tranquil setting, away from stresses of day to day life. Here you see the daily practice of the watching the “cows coming home” when just before sunset you have a drink in the local bar. Before long you’ll hear the bells of over a hundred cows coming home from grazing, making their own way back to their owners. Cheers to the simple life!
5. Not for the faint hearted! Smiling as always, Shigo in Harar on our Extreme Ethiopia Experience getting very up close and personal with wild hyena with Harar’s Hyena man. Hyena’s have been feeding off scraps outside the old medina of Harar for centuries. The practice of the Hyena men feeding hyenas started in the 1960s to protect the live stock of locals.
If any of these moments capture your imagination and wanderlust then please contact us and we’d be more than happy to organise your next adventure.
