I recently returned from a truly unforgettable stay at Klinci Village Resort on Montenegro’s Lustica Peninsula, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience. What struck me first about Klinci Village Resort was its stunning natural setting. Nestled in the hills above the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, the resort is enveloped by ancient olive groves, cypress trees, and unspoilt landscapes. The views are absolutely mesmerising – I’d sit on my terrace each morning, coffee in hand, watching the sun rise over the Adriatic. Whether you’re heading out on a walk through the peninsula’s coastal trails or simply relaxing by the pool, nature is ever-present and utterly calming. It’s the kind of setting that instantly slows your pace and clears your mind.

The Village Resort

The resort has a wonderful balance between privacy and community. The communal areas are peaceful, welcoming, and beautifully designed. The standout feature for me was the infinity pool – perched on the hillside with panoramic sea views, it’s perfect for a refreshing dip or unwinding with a glass of local wine. There are shaded lounge areas dotted around the estate, ideal for reading, sunbathing, or chatting with other guests. Everything feels relaxed, natural and never crowded.

The Rooms

I stayed in one of the traditional stone cottages, and it was simply charming. Each room at Klinci Village has been tastefully restored, preserving original features like wooden beams and stone walls, while adding thoughtful modern touches. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and full of character, with a supremely comfortable bed and a powerful rain shower. The private terrace offered the most incredible sea view — a real highlight. It felt more like a luxury countryside retreat than a resort.

The Food

The food at Klinci Village Resort is another reason I’ll be returning. The on-site restaurant serves authentic Montenegrin dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients — many sourced directly from the estate or nearby farms. I enjoyed everything from freshly grilled fish and slow-cooked lamb, to colourful salads drizzled with homemade olive oil. Each meal was a celebration of the region’s rich culinary traditions. The setting, under the stars or overlooking the bay, made every dining experience extra special.

The Service

What truly sets Klinci apart, though, is the warmth of the service. The family-run team go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. From offering personalised recommendations for day trips to sharing stories about the area’s history, their hospitality felt genuine and generous. I was made to feel like more than just a guest — more like part of the village itself.
